All About After Five Collective
From Haiti to the World: AlerteUnité's Global Safety Movement

The System Gap
My family's roots are in Verrettes, in the Artibonite — Haiti's most productive agricultural region. Over the years, I watched a troubling paradox unfold: as more external resources entered the region, local institutions became less capable of solving problems independently. Communities that had sustained themselves for generations increasingly found themselves positioned as recipients rather than participants.
Yet the capacity was always there.
Through our work at AlerteUnité, we have seen this repeatedly: communities solving problems and building resilience long before it appears in a report or funding proposal.
The challenge was never capacity. It was visibility.
Drawing on 15 years designing information and decision-support systems, I built AlerteUnité to apply the same principles trusted in healthcare: reliable data, verified information, and timely visibility. By making community knowledge visible and decision-ready in real time, funders and partners can direct resources toward the people and solutions already creating resilience from within.
Because lasting resilience is not imported. It is built by communities when they have the visibility and resources to move further, faster.
Our Mission
After Five Collective aligns community knowledge, expertise, and investment to create lasting resilience.
Communities often identify environmental risks and resilience opportunities long before they become visible to institutions, yet many lack the resources, technical expertise, and partnerships needed to scale their impact.
From Community Insight To Sustainable Impact

Community Contribution
Every opportunity includes a pathway for community participation — from implementation to long-term stewardship.

Right Expertise
We identify the technical experts, partners, and stakeholders needed to move from insight to action.

Sustainable Exit
Every project is designed to strengthen local capacity so communities can sustain progress independently.
Community Ownership → Right Expertise → Sustainable Exit

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Lead With Outcomes, Not Activities
We measure success by what changes for people and places — stronger infrastructure, safer communities, measurable environmental recovery, and the systems that sustain those gains.
Before opportunities reach funders, we align community insight with the right expertise, partners, and sustainability pathways. Because our partners are part of the communities we work with, continuity is built in — not bolted on.
We honour every investment entrusted to us, and the dignity, knowledge, and leadership of every community partner we work with.
